I believe that anyone who likes MJ is a fan, it doesnt matter WHEN they started liking him.

It's not about when you started liking him, it's your reasons. I am pretty sure everyone knew who Michael Jackson was before he died, so why weren't people giving him all this praise then? It's only when the hype surrounding his death came about that everyone became a "fan". The fact it took his death for people to appreciate his music doesn't sound genuine to me.

Why cant you just let people like whoever they want to like. Be a fan to whoever they want to fans of and worry about yourself not what other people think or do. You keep talking about fake MJ fans well if people didnt like him before he died but now do who cares ? The important thing is that they like him now that they discovered his talent , his music, his greatness and the magic behind the man in the mirror....

I think there are fake mj fans. in mississippi, african americans wouldn't say anything about michael jackson. didn't like him at all. then as soon as he died, t shirts started to sell, and they started wearing them, even if they hated him before. It's retarded. I only liked him a little bit, and I don't think you should fake liking somebody, it's totally different if you actually start listening to the music after he died, but if your just saying you like michael jackson without knowing any of his songs or anything about him at all, it's ridiculous

I think there can be a such thing as a fake fan... A fan likes you and your music no matter what.. many people were ashamed to like him when he was alive, but now that he passed they like his music again... That is a fake fan...

I love MJ a lot. He was a very good man and he tried to do better for the world. I don't know why so many people hate him and say things and made a fast buck outa him.
