The most idle celebrity I can think of has to be Winnie (The Pooh). Never works; just wants honey.
The idolatry thing is a bit uncool, don't you think? Why do we need idols?
No recent celebrity is my role-model, but when I was young, I admired Celia Hammond for taking care of so many stray and homeless animals. And also mother teresa for doing so much for human animals too.

For me, my celebrity idol (sic) is Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor, T2 etc?).
I find her drop dead gorgeous, and she doesn't have the pretention of most Hollywood actresses: she is 50 now (on Tuesday this week), and hasn't had plastic surgery! How do I know? well, the years take their toll, y'know! Even so, she remains gorgeous, just a little older now.
She is also honest in how she acts - again no pretention, just acts the part well - a real professional. She seems so normal, so understated in her life, and although she hasn't made it as big as some, she is probably less driven as well. She shows that you can do OK for yourself, and still be real. She will do for me.

i have no superstar "idles." I have extra ideal issues to stress about than the own lives of folk making tens of millions of funds for smiling to a digital camera. Oh, and "billy martin" is a musician, no longer a celebrity.

lea thompson and malcolm gets- both americans, almost virtually unknown celebrities in britain but i have followed their work and hugely admire their efforts. both are talented musicians as well as actors. lea is best remembered for her role as lorraine mcfly in the back to the future movies. plus, they are not a-list celebs in the slightest sense whatsoever. my favourite celebrities are mainly ones that are underrated and who don't have that typical hollywood status. malcolm, like lea, is himself a talented actor, musician and vocalist. they are both underrated performers who always put on a good show for their fans and deliver the goods when neccessary.
alas, i don't have that many really famous people that i look up to for inspiration. seeing as i mainly prefer underdog celebrities over the likes of david beckham, robbie williams, britney spears etc.

I have admired Madonna since I was a young elementary school child. She is independent and strong and gives a positive message about staying true to yourself and never settling for less than what you want. I have looked up to her all my life and feel that many of my successes are at least partially attributable to her. Long live Madonna, my personal queen and heroine!

The word is 'Idol' - as in 'Idolatry,' not ‘Idle.’
'Idle,' the way you spell it has to do with 'idleness,' as in 'inertia' - which means, 'nothing is happening,' as in, "This Parrot is a Dead Parrot, matey."
Personally, I prefer the Parrot.

Scarlett Johansson
She doesn't seem at all pressured to conform to the "skinny" image of Hollywood. She lives what seems to be a moral life and takes acting parts because she feels that they are inspiring and challenging, not because she thinks they are going to be box office hits!!!

I suppose Bono and Bob Geldof for the amazing work they do and Juanes (Colombian singer/songwriter) for being just as passionate about his work.

Bono from U2. He uses him fame for the good of the world. His main goal is to rid the world of extreme poverty. Plus he's a wicked awesome rock god.

Wow. Good question. I haven't given it much thought, but one that comes to mind of course was John Lennon.

It has to be Madonna. Someone who came from nowhere and worked hard to make her dreams come true. One of the all time greats.
