I recently bought a Michael Jackson Bad LP off ebay. It came with a certificate of authenticity, however i do not know if it is real or not. Is there any way of finding out?

If it helps the certificate of authenticity is 10cmx10cm card which reads:

Certificate Of Authentication
CPS Entertainment has issued this certificate to authenticate this item was signed by Michael Jackson
This autographed item was received in person and has a lifetime guarantee of authenticity.

There is then has a signature which i cannot make out and below says Official Signature and has the CPS Entertainment logo.

Thanks for your time.

With all due respect, the only way to know if an autograph is real is to watch it being signed in front of you.

However, let's look on the bright side - it could be genuine. To tell, you'd have to find an authenticated signature to compare it with. Do you know anyone who has one? Or maybe one of his fan sites has a facsimile.

Do bear in mind, though, how you'll feel if you investigate it and find out that it's not authentic. You bought it because you value it as a signed item (I do the same thing) - why not just assume that it is genuine.

Good luck!
