I was shocked when I heard the news that Ike has passed away, I am wondering how Tina Turner is feeling, in an interview she said Ike was a very special loving person and he had a lot of people who loved him very much and she says she hopes they still do love him, how do you feel after you heard the news that Ike has passed away, I read that Tina can now rest on another site, Ike will always be remembered, and one day we will see him again, I also read Tina hasn't had contact with him for about 37 years now, I can imagine how she is feeling now.

No, I hadn't heard about it until now. My grandparents knew Ike (Lil Ike as he was called then) and his father when they use to deliver blocks of ice to customers, in an ice wagon, pulled by a horse. He was just a kid then in Mississippi. I'm sorry to hear about his passing away. They might have a memorial service in his original hometown / birthplace (Mississippi). Also in St. Louis. MO where he got his start.

I was very upset to hear of his passing. I interviewed Mr. Turner seven years ago for a magazine article and found him to be quite the opposite of what I'd seen in the movie portrayal. We remained friends until his passing. The really odd thing is that when I met him, he and Tina were still keeping contact with each other, so this unnamed friend who told the media that Tina had not talked to him in 37 years, did not tell the truth. There has been no anger or animosity between them since the divorce and in fact, he was looking after her mother, who still lived in Los Angeles and their children, two of whom were having drug / financial issues. The sad thing is that the media took alot of what was portrayed in that film to be gospel, when both Ike and Tina said that the film was inaccurate. Instances: (1) both said that Tina was never raped by Ike, (2) Ike never tried to keep the stage name, and (3) the two maintained contact with each other as friends despite the fact that she was overseas. Things were a lot more complicated and complimentary than what the media has presented.

Yeah Ike was a friend of mine. He really was a great man and during the years I knew him he was a very generous and kind man. I hadn't seen him in awhile even though he lives only about 5 miles from me. I never heard much about Tina from him but I know he respected and cared for her.

I don't know how many people know but he won a lawsuit against the producers of the "what's Love got to do with it " movie.

Ike made a lot of mistakes in his life but he always admitted to them and tried to be a better person.

There is always a Bible on his coffee table so we can all just pray he is in heaven.

I was shocked and sadden by his passing. I lost a friend and a music hero.

Thank you for bringing Ike back in the spotlight if only due to his passing

He loved his fans and will be missed dearly by all

No I have not had the TV or radio on. And it wasn't on my residence web page for information both. I truthfully suggestion he'd already died. I hadn't heard of him in years. I don't forget the gossip mags again while. And the pix of Tina being overwhelmed up with black eyes and damaged nostril. I believed her, considering there used to be not anything he mentioned in his protection that I can don't forget studying approximately. She destroyed his profession as quickly as the scoop hit the streets. No one likes an abuser. And nobody allow him guard himself. He'd admitted he were on medications at one time then. So everybody went along side Tinas' accusations. We knew, she hadn't performed that a lot damage to herself, in an twist of fate even. Or might be he used to be too strung out, and did not don't forget hurting her. What- ever the case, his profession and hers, hit a nostril dive. And tho years later, she pulled herself again once more, the greatness simply wasn't there for me. They were excellent in combination, however by myself, I simply could not 'think' it anymore. It used to be variety of the identical, while Sonny and Cher separated and divorced. She went directly to additional stardom and used to be onstage as good. But to me, she went excessive together with her marriages and scandals. And she stopped being the category act I'd recognized her to be earlier than. She might nonetheless put on the Bob Mackie robes, however there used to be some thing lacking. And while she had her face performed increasingly, good to me, she had rather misplaced it. Even tho she endured to make much more cash, she simply wasn't the identical as earlier than. And who is to mention, might be that used to be well. The new photo, I imply. But for me, I desired the historical Cher again. Bump at the nostril, and all. And I desired the historical Tina and Ike again as good.

It was sad, I heard late last night.

The reason why she hadn't talked to him was mostly for two reasons. 1st, he had beaten her in their marriage. 2nd hs told her that if she left him she couldn't be called Tina Turner because he made her.
