She's really talented and can rap really well but with a british accent. Anyone heard of her - what's up and why isn't she a success? Maybe she's bigger on the East coast?

The last I heard of her, she signed on with JayZ's company? This isn't a big deal - just curious to see if anyone knows.

I've heard of her and I like her music. First of all, I have to say that there is no such thing as "reverse racism". Discriminating against a person based on the color of their skin (regardless of whether they are black, white, whatever) is racism. Period.

Your theory is not correct. Lady Sovereign (LS) herself has said that she has gotten more attention because she is white and British in a music category with predominantly black, American artists. She has done extremely well for someone who had no ties (i.e. relatives) to the music industry before she got started. Some accomplishments since she signed on with Jay-Z's company:

*" Love Me or Hate Me" went to #1 on MTV's TRL - the first time a British artist has been #1,

*"Love Me or Hate Me" went to #1 on the Billboard dance chart,

*She has never been on Jay Leno but she has appeared on Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, and Craig Ferguson's late night talk shows,

*She performed during the 2007 MTV New Year show and was a presenter at the MTV Woodie Awards,

*LS was the opening act for the U.S. leg of Gwen Stefani's Sweet Escape tour.

I think that she hasn't done better because she doesn't work as hard as some other artists. Rihanna signed with Def Jam around the same time that LS did. Since then Rihanna has recorded 3 albums while LS has only put out 1. And most of the songs on her Public Warning album were recorded before she signed with Jay-Z's company.

It is a logistical problem that many of the songs - 9 to 5, Random, Public Warning, Blah Blah, A Little Bit Of Shhh, Hoodie, Tango, and Fiddle With the Volume - were recorded before LS signed with Def Jam. That means that Def Jam can't (or won't) release them as singles because LS's old record company would get most of the profit from those sales. No single means no record company $$ for promotion which means no new video which means no radio airplay.

LS has a reputation for not playing very well with others. She has publicly criticized many other singers who have sold more albums than she has - Jessica Simpson, Fergie, Lily Allen, Corinne Bailey Rae, Nelly, 50 Cent - and said that all the albums that came out during 2006 were sh!t. LS had a recording session with one of the greatest producers in the industry - Pharrell - and she couldn't come up with even one new song. LS does not enjoy doing interviews with the press which can make it difficult for her to get good publicity. During her radio interviews she sounds bored and thus comes across as boring and uninteresting.

LS is at her best when she's performing live. Unfortunately she has also had some very public onstage freakouts that did nothing to bolster her reputation.

LS suffered a bout of depression that sidelined her for awhile at the beginning of the year. Hopefully she's better now. She's been working on a new album since she finished touring with Gwen. If it turns out well she could have a reinvigorated career. If it doesn't she could be written off as a one hit wonder who was once promising but couldn't deliver.

Lady Sovereign is popular, she just doesn't have that many hits yet but shes a good rapper, and a hell of a good fast rapper Public Warning, Lady Sovereign has made appearences on Jay Leno, and other tv shows, and Sovereign was also on the Mtv New Years Eve Special last year, Lady Sovereign may have a new cd in the future, it'll be cool for her to do duets with Jay-Z, Nelly, Eminem, 50 Cent, and more, Although she had that one big hit Love Me Or Hate Me, she still will probably come around to another album.

She's not popular because her songs aren't that great. She's British so maybe she's more popular over there. Just because she signed with Jay Z's company doesn't make her good - P Diddy or whatever the hell he's calling himself these days signed all those girl groups that went no where fast.

Lady Gaga is a laugh to bounce to and the whole thing, however that is all and I hate All Time Low so there may be not anything I can rather say approximately them, however I feel that if that is what you favor, there may be not anything fallacious with that. A few men and women could feel you each have unhealthy style in tune, however hi there, that is what you favor so that is all that concerns. lmao.

I'm from Texas, and no one knows her. I have no idea how I found about her, but I downloaded some songs. She's Okay. but I like her remixes with The Ordinary Boys. I ended up liking them more, and downloading their songs.

But she's adorable, and a good rapper, I agree!

Yes, people can watch her video "Love Me or Hate Me" on YouTube and elsewhere.

She is really sassy and talented........but I do think she's getting kinda popular, because I have seen people talking about her a lot. Congrats, Lady Sov!

She's like Britain's answer to what Queen Latifah was 18 years ago:hard-core violent-style rap in the genre of Andre "Dr.Dre" Young, Tracy "Ice-T" Marrow, and O'Shea "Ice Cube" Jackson, but to her own unique style that beats to a whole new generation...

And yet NO radio station in the L.A. area will play her music!

How sad!

i've heard of her and am personally glad she isnt more popular. she sucks in my opinion. THIS IS NOT TALENT:::::

"Love me or hate me, it's still an obsession.

Love me or hate me, that is the question.

If you love me then thank you!

If you hate me then **** you!

I'm fat, I need a diet.

No, in fact I'm just here lying

And I ain't got the biggest breast-s-s, but I write all the best disses.

I got hairy armpits, but I don't walk around like this.

I wear a big baggy t-shirt that hides that nasty ****.

Ugh!

Never had my nails done.

Bite them down until they're numb.

I'm the one with the non-existent bum,

Now I don't really give a....Ugh!

I'm missing my shepherd's pie

Like a high maintenance chick missin' her diamonds.

I'm missin' my clippers lighters.

Now bow down to your royal highness.

No! I don't own a corgi.

Had the hamster - it died 'cause I ignored it.

Go on then, go on report me,

I'm English, try and deport me!"
