My 80 year old mother has been trying to remember who this comic was. I do remember that my late father had an EP with funny sketches from this guy!

Could be the late great Bob Monkhouse. He had all the jokes he had ever used in several volumes by the time he died.

This is driving me mad! Wish hadn't logged on now! I'm going to ask my dad when I can get hold of him cos I have a feeling he will know this. It certainly is familiar and I can see someone like Bruce Forsyth saying 'it's all in the book, dear". However I will re-answer if I can get definite answer.
