I have had BUPA for years, used it to for an operation and my son had two ops. Private hospital, not nhs. My money, my choice.

I am in BUPA been in it for years and years

but I use the NHS as well because I worked

in the NHS for 8 years and my partner does



The accommodation in private healthcare is

better but the same surgeons and the same

consultants work in the NHS as do so private

health care hospitals no matter what status a

patient may be but the waiting time is far less

I doubt anyone would actually insure them as they are potentially high risk, but it is their choice if they use private healthcare services. Anyone who receives BUPA as part of their job is taxed as a benefit and tax is further levied on premiums. Other insurers are available.



As that leaves NHS hospital beds free for other users, I see no objection particularly for elective surgery or for things that would not be covered by the NHS. The right for healthcare professionals to continue in private practice was guaranteed as part of the establishment of the NHS.



If you want the perceived benefits you need to earn the money and pay for them, not waste your days whingeing on the internet.

I don't know why I got 3 thumbs down for telling the truth. I had skin cancer and the Specialist was not amused that I had to wait so long for an appointment.
