Black-Eyed Peas' Allen Pineda Lindo(apl.de.ap)...why the unique nickname?

Not even Wikipedia can help on this one, so I'm counting on all you BEP loyalists for the final answer...

Allen Pineda Lindo is just as talented as his BEP colleagues, but why did he pick that unique nickname?

My only guess so far(and you can correct me if you want) is:

"apl"=his initials, ".de"= the Internet country routing code for Germany, ".ap"= whatever country this Internet address comes from(NOT his native Phillipines!)...

Please explain his nickname to me...

I thought he was born in La Puente(like Fergie), but I guess not...sigh...

First things first:".ap" is NOT the Phillipine Internet routing code...it's actually ".pl"!



Now, to the other thing:"yes, ".de" is the German Internet routing code...



Finally, yes, "apl" are his initials...but the ".ap" is a mystery to all of us...try asking him...if you're able to...

This is a philippine name, Filipinos have spanish last names.
