The medicines used to treat Robin Williams for Parkinson’s disease possibly contributed to his deepening depression
he delt with substance abuse through out his life. and used comedy as a mask to hide it all.
He was one of the best actors,
R.I.P Robin Williams

You're just asking this now? This was something that happened a little over a year ago now. But anyway. Robin Williams was an alcoholic. He did get rehab for it for awhile and was getting better, but he returned to it. He also did cocaine. Alcohol is a depressant and a side effect of cocaine is also depression. Robin Williams became severely depressed. And then he was getting the beginnings of Parkinson's Disease. I guess that's where he couldn't take it anymore. Was having Parkinson's on top of his severe depression. So he committed suicide by hanging himself with his own belt. Pretty gruesome, but yeah. It's a very sad thing when people die. Especially when it's not of old age. R.I.P Robin Williams. You will be greatly missed but will forever be in our hearts. Thank you for the many years of laughter.

Because it's too many homosexuals roaming around and he was tired to seeing that sick shìt. I think Bruce Jenner wanting to be a woman is what pushed Robin over the edge.

Williams was depressed, had Parkinson's onset. However, in the final moments only Williams truly knew.

The same reason anyone else commits suicide: to stop suffering.
If you did the amount of drugs and alcohol that he did in his life, then it's going to affect your mind. Even relatively healthy people get severely depressed and want it all to end. It's more normal than you may think.

Find a successful comedian, & you'll probably find 6 out of 10 times a really obtuse mind. I wouldn't call myself successful, but I did work the comedy circuit for about 10 yrs. Think about it, Lenny Bruce, Richard Prior (he didn't kill himself quickly but he did try & drug himself to death) & Robin Williams. I can't think of any more at this time, but MOST if not all good comics live in a shell, which comics sometimes refer to as, "the sit-com life"! Everything we do is based upon, a laugh. don't ask me why, I'm not a therapist! Comics have a hard time understanding why you don't see the humour in everything in life YES! even in death. I personally needed to get a lawyer to place a stipulation in my will, for my headstone to read, "See ! I told you I was sick!" NO it's NOT original, but my wife swore an oath that it would never get on my tombstone. If you let me I would "roll on" for ever, but, I better not, as I'm starting to feel depressed.

Robin hid his true feelings behind a clown's mask that made the world think everything was all right with him. His new TV series had just been cancelled, I think that was the straw that broke him.

Not having a compatible wife! They were on bed separated for longer than 10 years, therefore he was suffering for a long time, but as in many other famous couple they decided to live this kind of life because the money , she will get most of his money which he had worked for it. And most of the case the wife put their kids against the father!! This man made so many laugh and did any from the family remember make him laugh???? I felt very sorry for Robin. The story never tells the real truth!!

As someone who has had a family member commit suicide my answer is ... who knows! You can blame it on anything you want (ie: depression, and I m not saying depression DOESN T cause suicide because it definitely does!) but at the end of the day you are asking a question that can t be answered.

He was depressed. He got fed up putting on a fake smile when really he was dying inside. Thats why be nice to people you dont know what they are going through. Though of course if they arent nice to you return the favour or just stay away from them.

He had demons. Severe depression. Mounting issues (debt, illness, uncertainty) I think it was just a daily struggle and he was tired of the daily fight.. just.. gave up. I don't blame him. I feel similar most days and I'm in my 20s.

There were reports he might have had an onset of dementia, and that could have impaired his reasoning and killed himself.

I have heard he just over dozed his medication. That is the theory of that anyways. If it was a intentional suicide it was just a under doze.

He had a mental breakdown and thought he was Bill Cosby and had done all those things what Cosby done.
So he shot himself in the head with a flare gun and the rest as they say is history.
I will miss him. He made rubbish films but I will miss him.
