At the Emerson Drive concert tonight, after the song "Moments," they dedicated the performance to Patrick. He did commit suicide, and they said that his death had really helped them realize the significance of that song.

A Celebration of the Life of Patrick Bourque has been planned to honor the former Emerson Drive bass player who passed away suddenly at his home in Montreal, Quebec on September 26th. The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 9th at 11:00 AM at the Belmont Church located at 68 Music Square East in Nashville, TN. The service will be open to the public. In lieu of flowers, we encourage memorial contributions to the Mental Health Association of Middle Tennessee (2416 21st Avenue South, Suite 201, Nashville, TN 37212). All gifts received will be designated to support the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network.

I don't want to come off as a real cranky person here...However, I have to say that perhaps the reason that details have not been released is out of respect for Patrick's family and friends...This is a very difficult time for everyone including fans, however, please understand that he did have a family and that family is now grieving and that needs to be respected...What has been released should be enough information...Let's just honour Patrick's life and memory...And respect his family and friends...This is hard enough for them without questions, assumptions, speculation and gossip from fans...I too am a fan but know how difficult this is for his friends and family, at this time I choose to respect that...Remember that the internet as wonderful as it is can be accessed by anyone, if this was your friend or family member would you want to read people asking questions at a time like this...Thank you...

I've been wondering the same thing all week, what caused Patrick's death. Thank you for the answers posted.

He will be sadly missed, as he was a amazing person, and guitarist. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, girl friend, friends and fans. Its sad when one feels like there is no way out. RIP Patrick.

On the band's website there is info about a memorial service open to the public and memorial gifts go to the Mental Health Assoc. of Middle TN to be designated for the Suicide Network. It unfortunately could be a suicide

Patrick was found dead at his home on 25th September this year. The police have refused to release the cause of death so far and we will probably have to wait for the coroners inquiry.

Nobody knows yet! I heard suicide then some people think he had some kinda illness that he kep secret because its kinda weird that he quit the band in August and now hes dead so nobody knows. I do happen to be a HUGE fan of the guys and I'm waiting for word myself or at least some kind of news about his death. I am totally gonna miss him though for sure!
