Question:
Are you glad that you were born when Michael Jackson was alive?
2009-08-10 18:23:54 UTC
There are some people that were born after June 25, 2009. I feel sorry for them. I'm glad I lived on the same planet as michael before he died. I was born in '91. Peeps born after June 25, 2009 wont know how much of a great symbol Michael Jackson was. People will have to tell them.

I'm very glad that I was alive during his time.

I'm grateful that I was able to experience his presence in the world, unfortunately those born today won't.

Yes...I'm just so glad that I had the chance to be blessed to see someone with a real talent like Michael Jackson had....But in a way I don't feel sorry for people that were born after he died because either way his music and legacy will still live on for all eternity.... :D

I'm glad as well, that i was born in 1992 when he was at one of his high points in life, and i have atleast experienced his History era, his Blood On The Dance Floor era, and his invincible era. I'm glad and thankful that i have experienced those even though i wished i had experienced Thriller and Bad. Yeah i know right, ppl will have to tell the new generation born after his death about his legacy. I mean they won't get to see him on TV, talk shows, and other things he usually attended.

He's gone, and i miss him ardently each and every day that is passing since the 25th of June 2009.

I'm very happy that I was born before June 25, 2009, and got to spend 14 years on the same planet with him before he died. :) I am jealous of my parents, my mom is only a few months older than him and she got to grow up with him..

omg yessssssss... did you read my mind? lol I was just thinking this when I came across your question. weird.

I'm so thankful I was born in '89 because I got to grow up listening to his music, though I wish I'd been born earlier... but we can't really change when we were born lol. I feel bad for those born after 6/25/09, but Michael is so big, I'm sure they'll hear of him. It's our job as fans to keep his legacy alive for future generations :)
2009-08-11 00:54:32 UTC
Yes, the other day I was actually thanking mum for giving birth to me 18 years ago lmao.

Even though I curse the fact that I had to be around when he died I'm so glad I actually knew who he was and was around when he was alive and actually have memories of him (on TV of course).

I feel sad knowing my kids will never know him, he'll be like what Elvis is to us just, some guy who "was a really good singer/dancer" =(

I'm so so so glad that I was born when he was alive. People don't have to ask who Michael Jackson is. His music will be alive forever, and ever and ever.

i know what you mean, our children of the next generation will have no idea. just like i wasnt born when elvis or john lennon died so i dont feel the pain like everyone else. all i hear is elvis was the king of rock and roll. it was such a tragedy when john lennon died. i will never feel the pain that i felt when michael jackson died.

o yes i 2 was born in 91.
2009-08-10 18:29:39 UTC
I was never a huge fan of his music.

But EVERYONE knows who he is.

He was, like, a pop icon that changed the world.

Although, for me, the world hasn't felt like it's changed since his death, I am actually glad I was born on June 21, 1995.

And I could witness what happened.

I am so grateful to have walked this Earth when Michael was on it at the same time, somewhere. I'll miss him so much, but I've vowed to pass on the MJ fan gene to my children when I have them. ;) I'm also playing Michael Jackson at my wedding (again, when I have one). We can't let MJ's music die out!

Yes I was born in 1979 so I got most of the 80s when he hit big. I want everyone to remember him and learn about him for his music and legacy not for the drama.

2009-08-10 18:27:59 UTC
YES! omg, seems like your taking the thoughts right out of my head. I'm so glad I got to experience at least someee of Michael's legacy. But I wish I had grown up with him like my parents. But the piece that I got will suffice. Ah, i love him :) But don't we all ? ha.
