Parker Stevenson (born Richard Stevenson Parker on June 4, 1952 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American television actor. He attended Rye Country Day School in Rye, NY. His first notable screen appearance was a starring role in the 1972 movie A Separate Peace. He graduated from Princeton University in 1976 and moved to Hollywood.
Stevenson became well-known from starring in the The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries series with teen heartthrob, Shaun Cassidy, which ran 1977-79 on ABC-TV. He then starred on the short-lived series Probe in 1988. He was also part of the original cast of Baywatch in the 1989 season, returning for the syndicated 1997 and 1998 seasons.
On December 22, 1983, Stevenson was married to actress Kirstie Alley (Cheers), ending in divorce in 1997. The couple adopted a boy and a girl, after Alley experienced a miscarriage and later a stillbirth. Memorably, when Alley won an Emmy Award in 1991, she thanked Stevenson in her acceptance speech for giving her "the big one."
According to media reports, Stevenson walked away from the marriage with a $6,000,000 USD settlement, after asking for $75,000 per month in alimony. Today, the couple share joint custody of their two children.
Shaun Paul Cassidy (born September 27, 1958 in Los Angeles, California) is an American singer, actor and TV producer.
The eldest of Broadway entertainer Jack Cassidy's and actress Shirley Jones's three sons, Cassidy was inspired by the success of his half-brother David Cassidy of TV's The Partridge Family. He went to Beverly Hills High School.
He released several successful singles in the late 1970s. His first single, "Morning Girl", a The Neon Philharmonic classic, didn't chart in the USA but did well in the Low Countries.[citation needed] His second single, a cover version of The Crystals' "Da Doo Ron Ron", hit #1 in the United States in 1977, and he, like David, became a major teen idol. He achieved two further top ten singles with cover versions of Eric Carmen's "That's Rock 'N' Roll" and "Hey Deanie" the same year. Cassidy and his mother Shirley Jones of the Partridge Family are the only mother and son to each have a song reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.[citation needed]
Cassidy starred opposite Parker Stevenson in the popular The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries television series, which ran for several seasons on ABC-TV, starting in 1977. In 1987, Cassidy, a rare blond actor, joined the cast of the Daytime Soap Opera General Hospital for several months, playing the character of Dusty Walker from 1987-1988. This marked a time when another blond actor, Chris Aable, appeared on the show and not too far before blond actor Steve Burton became a regular. Cassidy made his Broadway debut in 1993 in a production of Blood Brothers.
Among his credits as a TV producer was the creation of the short-lived Fox Television Network Action/Adventure series Roar, which starred the then-unknown Heath Ledger. Other writing and producing credits include Cold Case, The Agency, and the creation of American Gothic as well as the 2005 ABC series Invasion.
Cassidy has two children from his first marriage with model Ann Pennington, and one child from his second marriage, with actress Susan Diol. On August 28, 2004, Cassidy married a third time, to producer Tracey Turner, with whom he has two children.
Cassidy is an experienced bowler who has achieved two perfect scores certified by the American Bowling Congress, now part of the USBC
