Oh the tabloids/media loves to make a huge deal out of the same things that celebrities do that most non-celebs do. It's hard enough to live life as it is. Could you imagine having 100+ strangers w/ cameras running after you every second of your life, recording every little mistake you make and blowing it out of proportion all over the country?
O.K. sorry, to answer your question, I believe she got one day in actual jail. Lots of people are mad about it, but I don't have (or care to have) the details on her case, but I do know that standard procedure in similar cases is that the person often does not even spend one day in jail. But what some people don't seem to know, is that the so called "justice system" can make a person's life a living hell without any jail time. Most likely, that day in jail will be her easiest day for the next wto years at least. There's usually supervised probation - got to report go an officer, who also can search your house at will, and/or your person, becuase the are not a police officer. The 4th ammendment doesn't apply to them. You live under a cloud of uncertainty, Prison (not jail) always hovering right over your head. Random drug and alcohol testing, maiditory in-patient drug re-hab - often for a long time, like 6 months to a year - maybe some of iot is out patient. Court ordererd manditory AA and/or N/A meetings several times a week, and those are only a few things that will probably be imposed on her, but probably won't be as publicized as that one day in jail, 'cuz the public will tire of that soon......
One day so far..... until she flunks one random test......
